The Young Bankers Club
Project Background
An immersive eLearning experience built in Articulate Storyline, the Young Bankers Club teaches elementary school students critical financial literacy skills through interactive games, branching storylines, and quizzes.
VMG Studios brought me on as an eLearning Developer for this high-intensity project on behalf of their client, Fifth Third Bank. The goal: transform traditional content into a dynamic financial education program tailored for younger learners.
What sets this program apart is its scale and originality. For an e-learning programmer, it presented a series of complex, yet rewarding challenges. Every element was custom-built—from interactive financial games and cinematic cutscenes to adaptive story paths that shift based on learner choices. The result is a deeply engaging, gamified curriculum that not only teaches financial responsibility but also keeps students actively involved from start to finish.
My Role
Tool: Articulate Storyline (SCORM 1.2)
- Developed interactive games, quizzes, and scenario-based exercises
- Ensured full WCAG Web Accessibility compliance
I worked closely with the Project Manager, Instructional Designer, Creative Director, Content Development Manager, and the production and design teams to take storyboards, scripts, and thousands of assets and turn them into the immersive world of Max’s Scavenger Hunt.
Outcomes
- 90%+ completion rate across all lessons
- Course completion rates 4 times above industry standard
- SCORM-compatible across LMS platforms
Fifth Third Bank was so pleased that they asked VMG Studios to craft another financial literacy program, this time for teens:
Finance Academy
