Project Background
After showcasing my skills on the Young Bankers Club project, VMG Studios brought me back on board to program the e-learning for a more complex interactive financial literacy program for junior high and high school students. Like the Young Bankers Club program, Finance Academy was heavily dependent on immersive storytelling, gaming, interactive exploration, and youth culture to drive engagement.
My Role
Using Articulate Storyline, I programmed a series of highly complex games and custom interactions that could still be delivered within the confines of a SCORM 1.2 package on any LMS platform.
Additionally, Finance Academy was developed to be 100% accessible. Many hours were spent deep in the program alongside the VMG Studios Accessibility Specialist to ensure that the program met or exceeded all WCAG requirements.
Results
The program, released in early 2024, is already boasting impressive numbers, with lesson completion rates above 90% and course completion rates over 5 times above the industry standard. Additionally, preliminary pre- and post-testing scores indicate a significant increase in skills improvement and retention of core concepts.
